She was born in Roswell on March 29, 1985. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birthname. Gerina Stevenson's parents include Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. She is Mexican roots, yet is American by nationality. Ever since she was young, she's been very keen on playing sports. Gerina was a golfer when she was just age 15. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her high school education. While in highschool, Gerina won the New Mexico golf state tournament. As well as playing volleyball, she also competed at a state-level. She attended Texas's University of Texas, Texas, for the 2003 academic year. She was the only winner of all competitions she participated in during her final years. In her time at college, she received the Conference USA Player of The Award and The UTEP Female Sport Athelete Award.
